Obedience is to do what God requires, no matter the price.
The sacrifice David made brought an end to the plague.
Don’t get tired of making sacrifices and being good and generous.
HEBREWS 11:24-26 (AMP)
24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
25 because he preferred to endure the hardship of the people of God rather than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.
26 He considered the reproach of the Christ [that is, the rebuke he would suffer for his faithful obedience to God] to be greater wealth than all the treasures of Egypt; for he looked ahead to the reward [promised by God].
Obedience is better than sacrifice, but obedience always requires sacrifice. Sacrifice entails giving up something of value, with no expectation of receiving anything in return. This is obedience, not for anything in return but to obey God. Abraham sacrificed Isaac on Mt. Moriah out of obedience, but from that day, Abraham had a revelation that God is his provider. Moses gave up the opportunity to become the next Pharaoh, as well as access to the treasures of Egypt, for the reproach of Christ. Sacrifice is always related to the act of voluntarily suffering loss. The act of obedience is to do what God requires, no matter the price. To do this, we need help from God. During COVID-19, can we say that we made sacrifices? Don’t get tired of making sacrifices as well as being good and generous. Sacrifices will lift us from the position of weariness. We become the sacrifice. In 2 Samuel 24, David’s sacrifice brought an end to the plague, and significant spiritual transactions took place there. God is building His corporate temple through dedication, commitment and sacrifice. Through fellowship offerings, we are One with Him, One with His nature and character. David did not blame God for the plague but took personal responsibility. Let our lives become a living sacrifice, a sweet aroma to God. This sweet fragrance of Christ ascends to God, and He takes notice of us – Pastor Coenie Bezuidenhout.

ISAIAH 35:1-3 (AMP)
The wilderness and the dry land will be glad;
The Arabah (desert) will shout in exultation and blossom
Like the autumn crocus.
2 It will blossom abundantly
And rejoice with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
The majesty of [Mount] Carmel and [the plain] of Sharon.
They will see the glory of the Lord,
The majesty and splendor of our God.
3 Encourage the exhausted, and make staggering knees firm.

SUNDAY, 24 OCTOBER: A HOLY NATION, by Pastor Charles van Onselen: “Be in the world, but not of the world.”
1 PETER 2:9 (AMP)

May the Lord answer you (David) in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high [and defend you in battle]!
2 May He send you help from the sanctuary (His dwelling place)
And support and strengthen you from Zion!
3 May He remember all your meal offerings
And accept your burnt offering. Selah.
4 May He grant you your heart’s desire
And fulfill all your plans.
5 We will sing joyously over your victory,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
