Faith is abiding trust in God and His promises! Hope is confident expectation of eternal salvation! Love is unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for you! But, the greatest of these is love!

“The Bible test of whether we are in the faith is a simple one. What it comes down to in the end is the question of whether we love the brethren, for loving the brethren whom we can see is the evidence that we have loved Christ. So it is not a question of which denomination we belong to, or how we were baptized, or how comprehensive our confession of faith is. The question is whether you love! The relational aspect of the Christ life is, therefore, of the utmost importance to the security of your soul. There can be nothing more important than that. No matter how many areas of ministry you have worked in, how accurate your belief or how extensive your Bible knowledge, the question remains, do you love? First of all, do you love Christ? The Bible proof that you love Christ is not merely saying that you love Him, or even feeling that you love Him. It is possible to deceive yourself into thinking that you love Christ, even while you have all sorts of lovely feelings about Him. No, the Bible test is, do you love the brethren?”

1 John 3:11-16 (AMP)
¹¹ For this is the message which you [believers] have heard from the beginning [of your relationship with Christ], that we should [unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another; ¹² and not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother [Abel]. And why did he murder him? Because Cain’s deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, believers, if the world hates you. ¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into Life, because we love the brothers and sisters. He who does not love remains in [spiritual] death. ¹⁵ Everyone who hates (works against) his brother [in Christ] is [at heart] a murderer [by God’s standards]; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ By this we know [and have come to understand the depth and essence of His precious] love: that He [willingly] laid down His life for us [because He loved us]. And we ought to lay down our lives for the believers.
